About flowers coloring pages

Flowers are one of the most relaxing things to color. Flower coloring pages can show a single big bloom like a sunflower, a rose or a tulip, a bunch of flowers in a vase or a pot, or a pattern of petals and leaves. Easy pages have a few large petals, while tricky ones are full of small leaves and detailed designs that older children and grown-ups enjoy.

Flowers give children a chance to mix colors. Try two shades on each petal, a light one near the middle and a darker one at the edge, for a soft, real-looking finish. Green does not have to be just one color either: leaves can be light green, dark green or even a little yellow. If there is a garden or park nearby, pick one real flower to look at and color the page to match it. You can also talk about the parts of a flower, such as the petals, stem, leaves and roots, and how bees visit flowers to collect nectar.

Questions parents and teachers ask

What is the national flower of the United States?

The rose is the national floral emblem of the United States. Every state also has its own state flower, such as the California poppy, the Texas bluebonnet and the Georgia Cherokee rose. Coloring your state flower is a fun way to learn about where you live.

What are the parts of a flower?

A flower has petals, a stem, leaves and roots. The center of the flower holds pollen, which bees and butterflies carry from flower to flower. Children can label each part on their colored page to make a simple science worksheet.

How do I make colored flowers look real?

Use two shades for each petal: light near the center and darker at the edges. Add a few darker lines on the leaves for veins. A yellow dot in the middle of the flower makes it look like pollen.

How many flower coloring pages are there?

There is 1 free flower coloring page right now: 1 easy. Use the Difficulty buttons above the pictures to show one level at a time. New pages are added over time.

Which flower coloring pages are best for toddlers?

Start with the Easy pages, such as Garden Flower. They have big shapes and thick lines that children aged 2 to 4 can fill with crayons or the tap-to-fill tool.

How do I print these coloring pages?

Open any page and press Print, or press Download PDF to save it. Pages are sized for standard US Letter paper (8.5 x 11 inches) and also fit A4. Wide pictures print sideways (landscape) automatically.

Can my child color these pages on a phone or tablet?

Yes. Press Color online on any page. Tap a shape to fill it, or draw with the brush, crayon and marker. Press Save to keep the picture in My Gallery on that device; nothing is uploaded.
